The Estate

Terroir, Identity and Passion: The Essence of Poggio Amorelli

Founded in 1997, the estate lies in the heart of Chianti Classico at an altitude of 600 meters. Our ten hectares of vineyards in Castellina in Chianti enjoy a privileged hilltop position; here, the rocky limestone soil ensures the perfect aromatic ripening of our Sangiovese, alongside Merlot, Syrah, and Cabernet. To maintain our high production standards, we successfully completed a significant replanting project in 2021, while preserving our oldest, thirty-year-old vines.

Our reach extends to the Maremma, where the Mediterranean breeze caresses the vineyards dedicated to our white wines and our grove of 1,500 olive trees. Our collection is completed by the traditional Vin Santo, refined Grappa, and our artisanal Balsamic Vinegar (DOP and IGP), crafted in our boutique acetaia in Modena.

Our Philosophy We believe in absolute control of the supply chain. Every stage—from the vine to the bottle—is managed in-house using artisanal techniques that respect the environment, strictly avoiding the use of chemicals. At Poggio Amorelli, we are custodians of the land: protecting nature and its biodiversity is not just a duty, but our daily tribute to the beauty that surrounds us.

The Wine Aging Cellar

This cellar, located approximately 20 km from the Poggio Amorelli estate, was created inside a charming underground tunnel, abandoned after the Second World War and later carefully restored. Thanks to its ideal and constant temperature and humidity conditions, it provides the perfect environment for wine aging and maturation.

Marco envisioned a unique place to welcome guests seeking an exclusive and private experience, opening the tunnel exclusively for them. Here, visitors can taste the finest selection of the estate’s products and embark on a sensory journey, enjoying high-quality farm-to-table cuisine in a truly extraordinary setting.
